Mendoza Scores First Goal to Help SAC Women’s Soccer Top Fullerton, 1-0
The Santa Ana College Women's Soccer team collected their first Orange Empire Conference win, defeating Fullerton 1-0 on Friday afternoon.

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Vida Mendoza scored her first goal of the season to lead the Santa Ana College Women's Soccer team to its first Orange Empire Conference (OEC) win of the year as they defeated Fullerton (2-12-1, 1-8-1) by a score of 1-0.
The Dons (2-13, 1-9) took the lead in just the third minute of the match when Mendoza turned and flicked a shot over the outstretched hands of the Hornet goalkeeper. Emily Alverado was credited with the assist.
Although Fullerton won the battle of shot attempts with a 12 to7, the Dons held them off for about 87 minutes to come out on top.
SAC will be back in action on Tuesday when they go on the road to face No. 9 ranked Cypress at 3:00 p.m.
