SANTA ANA, Calif. – The Santa Ana College Baseball team came home to begin its two-game series against Long Beach City College on Tuesday afternoon.
The Dons seemed to be in control after Adam Cendejas hit a two-RBI single in the seventh to put them up 7-4, but Long Beach City came back with a three-run eighth inning to tie things up.
Long Beach snuck out with the win after putting up two more runs in the ninth, while the Dons couldn't manage to produce a couple more runs to send it to extra innings.
It was a good offensive game for Santa Ana, as they recorded seven runs on 12 hits. Third baseman Justin Mellano led the way with three hits, two RBI's and a walk, while Cendejas and Francisco Raigoza followed with a couple hits each.
