Nick Beavers' Record Setting Time Makes Him an All-American
With his time of 1:42.89 at the Orange Empire Conference Championships, Nick Beavers qualified as an All-American in the 200-yard freestyle.
While competing at the 2013 Orange Empire Conference Swim and Dive Championships, Nick Beavers set two new Santa Ana College records, one of which placed him on the All-American list for the 200-yard freestyle.
Beavers turned in a time of 1:42.89 during his preliminary heat at the OEC Championships, setting a SAC record while also placing him 15th in the state in that event. The top-16 times in each event are named All-Americans.
On the season, Beavers took fourth place in two separate events at the OEC Championships while setting a pair of SAC records. Both records had been in the books for at least 20 years.
