SANTA ANA - The Dons used a pair of second half goals by Kelly Hanna to defeat Irvine Valley College 2-0 in an Orange Empire Conference match. The win improves the Dons record to 6-10-0 overall and 2-9-0 in conference while the Lasers drop to 5-8-2 overall and 3-6-2 in conference.
After the two teams played to a scoreless first half, Hanna scored her first goal in the 53rd minute on a free kick just steps outside of the penalty box. Her second goal, scored in the 74th minute, was also scored on a free kick but this time came from a much further distance. Her shot, which was from about 30 yards out, floated just over the outstretched arms of IVC's goalkeeper.
Joey Martinez posted the shutout victory with six saves in 90 minutes while Irvine Valley's Alexandra Benedict made four saves while allowing the two goals.
