Dons are 10-Seed, Will Play #7 LA Mission College to Open Playoffs
Following the Dons second-place finish in the Orange Empire Conference, they were given the 10-seed in the SoCal Regional Playoffs and will play #7 Los Angeles Mission College on Saturday at LA Valley College.
SANTA ANA - The Dons followed their 2012 regular season campaign with a spot in the Southern California Regional Playoffs. The #10 Dons will travel to #7 Los Angeles Mission College as they look to return to the State Championships.
The game itself will be played at Monarch Stadium at Los Angeles Valley College and will start at 2:00 p.m. The winner of the game advances to face #2 Cerritos College on Tuesday, November 20.
The Dons qualified for the postseason with their 12-4-5 record and a second place finish in the Orange Empire Conference.
LA Mission finished its season with a 12-5-4 record while taking second place in the Western State Conference.
The two teams faced five of the same opponents at least once with the Dons going 2-1-2 against those teams while LA Mission finished 2-4-1 in those games. The like opponents were Los Angeles Harbor College, Moorpark College, Oxnard College, Rio Hondo College and San Bernardino Valley College.
The Dons wins against similar opponents came against Oxnard College (two losses for LA Mission) and Rio Hondo College (LA Mission tied) while LA Mission defeated Moorpark College (Dons tied) and San Bernardino (Dons lost).
