SANTA ANA - Santa Ana College (SAC) sophomore forward Blaysen Varnadoe (Foothill HS) was named Southern California Player of the Year by the California Community College Athletic Association's (CCCAA) Women's Basketball All-State committee. Varnadoe, a First-Team All-State selection as a freshman, became the first SAC women's basketball player to garner the state's top individual honor.
"This is a tremendous honor for Blaysen and our program. We are thrilled that one of our teammate was recognized for her individual contributions to our team and are happy to share in the excitement of this very well deserved honor." said Head Coach Flo Luppani. "Blaysen, and more importantly this particular team, were a thrill to coach and I enjoy this journey with. I am very proud of Blaysen for the tremendous student-athlete she is and I am proud of our team for what a great family they have become."
