SAC Volleyball Sweeps Chaffey to Take Momentum into OEC Play
Santa Ana earned another sweep for their second consecutive win.
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. - Santa Ana College Women's Volleyball collected their second consecutive win as they went on the road to sweep the Chaffey Panthers 3-0 (25-14, 25-20, 25-19) on Monday night.
It was a well rounded performance for the Dons (4-5), with 15 players seeing the court in the final non-conference match of the season.
Freshman middle Yuritzi Aviles led the way with a season high nine kills on 16 attempts. Sophomore outside hitter Lyric Birdsong posted seven kills to go with four digs while newcomers Dayana Avila and Cydelle Sanchez added five kills each.
Hadassah Miranda and Alexis Tortola split time at the setter position and combined for 22 assists on the night.
Defensively, SAC saw freshmen Alexis Esparza (11) and Cheyne Pope (10) hit double-digits in digs while Avila pitched in with nine.
Santa Ana will begin Orange Empire Conference play on Wednesday as they go on the road once again to face Riverside City College at 6:00 p.m.
