SANTA ANA, Calif. - After conceding a goal just a few minutes into the game, the No. 17 ranked Santa Ana College Men's Soccer team locked in and dominated the rest of the contest, leading to a 4-1 win over the Santiago Canyon Hawks (3-8-3, 0-6-2).
In the fourth minute of the match, The Dons (7-5-3, 3-3-2) evened the score on a free kick set play. Isaac Pineda passed the ball away from the crowd of players and into the foot of Joshua Rossette, who placed a perfect cross for Edwin Flores to head into the top right corner of the goal.
Jordan Bueno added on just a few minutes later as he finished a nice cross from Mark Rayo to give SAC a 2-1 lead.
The score stayed there until the 61st minute when Rayo scored a goal of his own off a throw-in from Bueno. Esteban Palacios topped things off with his third goal of the season on a pass from Braden Phoenix, giving Santa Ana a definitive 4-1 lead.
With the win, the Dons have moved into a tie for third place in the Orange Empire Conference standings. They'll continue the second round of OEC play on Tuesday when they travel to Saddleback College. SAC defeated the Bobcats 2-0 in their first matchup.
