SANTA ANA, Calif. - Damian Banuelos snuck a shot into the bottom right corner of the goal in the 42nd minute to put SAC Men's Soccer on top for good in Friday's 2-1 win over Irvine Valley College (11-6-0, 8-2-0).
Banuelos now has four goals this season, which includes his hat trick against San Diego Mesa back in mid September.
It was Randy Castillo who found Banuelos making his run to collect his third assist of the year.
Alexander Hipolito also added a goal off a rebounded header in the 35th minute of action.
The victory gives the Dons (3-8-6, 2-4-4) their second straight after they pulled off another upset of the second place Golden West Rustlers by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday.
SAC now has a path to playoffs if they can ride this momentum down the stretch. They'll play two of the teams in the bottom of the OEC standings with Santiago Canyon on Tuesday and Orange Coast on Friday.
